Updated their recommendations for preventing bacterial endocarditis

The American Heart Assoc just updated their recommendations for preventing bacterial endocarditis. These are widely used by physicians and dentists throughout the U.S. and Canada.
The new guidelines have some significant differences from the previous version that was published in 1990.
Now fewer dental procedures need antibiotic prophylaxis. Also fewer patients...those with mitral valve prolapse usually don't need antibiotics unless they have a heart murmur.
